HOW TO DEVELOP B+W FILM

Poster, Illustration
Spring 2024

Advised by Doug Scott for Mapping Information @ RISD.

This vector-illustrated poster demonstrates how black and white film is developed in the darkroom. The process is broken down into 16 steps, with the first 4 steps being completed in total darkness.

The development times are based upon recommendations for Ilford HP5 Plus at 20°C — and hence, the design is intentionally reminiscent of Ilford packaging.
